"WALK IN MY SHOES" VIDEO CONTEST
How would you and your entire grade like to get into The City of Indio's Fantasia Comic Con for free?
That’s right, you and all the students in your grade can get into our show for free by entering and wining this contest. It’s simple, all you have to do is re-enact a scene from one of four comic books that we have chosen. If your video wins, everyone in your grade, at your school will get to attend the show and will be admitted for free on Friday morning. It’s that simple. All completed comic book scene videos will need to be uploaded to You Tube by March 30, 2017. One middle school and one high school will be chosen as winners and the winning videos will be featured on the Fantasia Con website. So what are you waiting for? Get moving and send us those videos. Send the completed videos YouTube link to Fantasiacomicconcontest@gmail.com by midnight on April 30, 2017 and we’ll do the rest. Remember, everyone that appears in the video must be in the same grade. You must send us the name of the school entering, the grade and provide us with the name, grade, age and character role of everyone appearing in the submitted video. The "Walk In My Shoes" Video Contest is designed to give students at an accredited Riverside County middle school and high school the chance to recreate a scene from one of the four comic listed below. Each contest Entrant will submit original video submission up to 2 minutes long. The winners, one middle school and one high school video will be featured in the City of Indio's Fantasia Comic Con media outlets, including but not limited to, the official City of Indio's Fantasia Comic Con website (http://fantasiacon.com/), Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
By participating in this contest, entrants agree to be bound by the official terms and conditions.
The contest submission period begins October 3, 2016 at 12:01 AM PST and ends March 30, 2017 at 11:59 PM PST.
The contest judging period begins March 31, 2017, and ends April 29, 2017.
The notification period for grand prize winners begins April 30, 2017 and ends May 5, 2017. All prize winners will be notified through the original email used to send their "Walk In My Shoes" contest submission. Winners who do not respond within the designated time frame of one week from the original email date will forfeit their prizes to the next eligible winner.
VIDEO SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Entrants must adhere to the "Walk In My Shoes" Terms and Conditions. Entrants must submit an up-to-2-minutes digital video recreating a scene from one of the four books listed below no later than 11:59 PM PST March 30, 2017 to be eligible to enter. Entrants must upload the videos to YouTube. All students in a video must be in the same grade. An email must be sent to Fantasiacomicconcontest@gmail.com with the school name, full names of the students in the video, age, role (character name), and grade. No more than 4 entries per school allowed. This contest is open to all Riverside County middle schools and high schools.

Serving Supes - A story about two process servers that start a business serving court paperwork/documents to deadbeat super heroes. http://firstcomics.myshopify.com/
Tales of the S.S. Junky Star - A tale about a whacky crew on a beat up space ship that try and save a creature from being captured by space pirates. http://firstcomics.myshopify.com/
Night Stalker - A female bounty hunter tasked with the tracking and capturing escaped creatures hiding on Earth posing as humans. http://nightstalkercomic.com/
Winning videos are selected by the City of Indio's Fantasia Comic Con judges. The videos will be judged on creativity and resemblance to the source material. The winners will be notified via submission emails between April 30, 2017 and May 5, 2017.
The grand prize winner(s) will receive an admittance for his/her school's whole grade to City of Indio's Fantasia Comic Con Friday, May 19, 2017. The winner's school will have one week from the notification email's date to accept the grand prize. In the event that the school does not accept the grand prize, the grand prize will be given to the next eligible winner. There will be one (1) winner from the eligible middle schools and one (1) winner from the eligible high schools.
Terms and Conditions - "Walk In My Shoes" Video Contest
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. The "Walk In My Shoes" Video Contest ("Contest") will be held online from 12:01 am Pacific Time ("PT") October 3, 2016 ("Contest Start Date") to 11:59 pm Pacific Time ("PT") March 30, 2017. ("Contest Period.") Contest is sponsored by City of Indio's Fantasia Comic Con who is solely responsible for all aspects of this contest.
The "Walk In My Shoes" Video Contest ("Contest") is open to all individuals who are legal residents in United States who attend an accredited Riverside County, California middle school or high school ("Entrant"). Sponsor's families and immediate families are not eligible to enter. Sponsor reserves the right to verify eligibility of any potential winner. Winning a prize is contingent upon meeting all requirements set forth herein. Entrants who do not meet those requirements will be disqualified, and their submissions will be void.
HOW TO ENTER
As of Contest Entry Period, Entrants can send an email to Fantasia Comic Con with a link to their video uploaded to YouTube ("Submissions"). For entries to be eligible, Entrants must completely and accurately enter all information to enter. Submissions must be based on official "Walk In My Shoes" Contest rules and regulations. Submissions can be no more than two minutes long. Any Entrant under age 18 needs parental written permission to enter. All submissions must be received by 11:59 pm PST on March 30, 2017. Sponsor is not responsible for late or unsuccessful attempts to enter. The Entrant should be able to provide upon request all third-party clearance, releases, and permissions for video submission, including releases from the entrant and any other third party participants. Submissions must not contain material which is sexually explicit, obscene, violent, discriminatory (based on race, sex, religion, natural origin, physical disability, sexual orientation or age), illegal (e.g. underage drinking, substance abuse, etc.) offensive, threatening, profane or harassing. Once submitted, all submissions become exclusive property of Sponsor, affiliates, and subsidiaries, in perpetuity.
INTERNET LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Sponsor assumes no liability for error in transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, or alteration of entries.
RIGHTS IN SUBMISSIONS
In consideration of Entrant’s video being reviewed and evaluated for this contest, Sponsor has exclusive rights to use, copy, sublicense, transmit, distribute, publicly perform, publish, delete, or display any such submission, or any portion thereof, in any and all media including but not limited to all forms of internet, television, and wireless protocol. Each Entrant authorizes the Sponsor and any entities affiliated with the Sponsor to utilize the video submitted to the Sponsor, for eternity and for how they see fit, in connection with the City of Indio's Fantasia Comic Con and any of the Sponsor’s programs, including any programs of its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, and licensees, and to make derivative works from such materials at the sole discretion of Sponsor. The Grand Prize Winner may be required to complete and execute additional documents and have third parties execute Sponsor’s documents in connection with the rights granted to Sponsor as a condition of prize acceptance. In addition, by participating in the Contest and submitting a Video, each Entrant hereby grants permission (except where prohibited by law) for the Sponsor to use Entrant’s Video, name, likeness, voice, quotes, comments, biographical information, photograph and/or image for the purpose of advertising, trade, or promotion without further notice, permission, compensation or consideration in any and all media now known, in perpetuity, unless prohibited by law. Entrant can reach contest organizers by e-mail at Fantasiacomicconcontest@gmail.com to request that the entrant’s name be removed from the mailing lists for the contest.
Each Entrant understands, acknowledges, and agrees that the Sponsor does not have now or in the future any duty or liability, direct or indirect, contributory, or otherwise, in regards to the infringement of protection of the copyright in and to the submission. Each Entrant acknowledges that, with respect to any claim by Entrant relating to or arising out of Sponsor’s actual or alleged exploitation or use of any Submission or other material submitted in connection with the Contest, the damage, if any, thereby caused to the applicable Entrant will not be irreparable or otherwise sufficient to entitle such Entrant to seek injunctive or other equitable relief or in any way enjoin the production, distribution, exhibition or other exploitation of the Video or any other production based on or allegedly based on the Submission, and the Entrant’s rights and remedies in any such event shall be strictly limited to the right to recover damages, if any, in an action at law.
A winner cannot assign or transfer any prize to another person. A prize cannot be substituted or redeemed for cash. All prizes are subject to availability. If a prize or any portion of the prize cannot be awarded due to circumstances beyond the control of the Sponsor, then a substitute prize may be awarded at sole discretion of Sponsor. Winners are responsible for any risk of loss associated with the prize or any portion of the prize after it has been delivered.
